The Gold Museum is part of the Sovereign Hill Museums Association. Our Mission is to collect, conserve and interpret the mining, social, cultural and environmental heritage of the Ballarat region.
The Gold Museum extends Sovereign Hill’s story of Ballarat – a majestic provincial city built on the wealth derived from the great Australian gold rushes of the 1850s – and serves as Ballarat’s social and cultural history museum.
These posts come from the staff and volunteers of the Gold Museum.
The Gold Museum Curatorial team are: Manager/Curator Roger, Assistant Curator Claire, Volunteer Co-ordinator Joanne, and Installations Designer Peter.
We have over 80 volunteers who work in all areas of the Museum, from collection management and conservation, to digitisation and tour guiding.
